Periodic Class Announcements

(for MS 5023 - Decision Analysis and Production Management)

August 26, 2002 - Welcome Message from Dr. Kefeng Xu

Dear MS 5023 Students:
This is an information page with our informal discussions outside of our regular classes. You could read it in the comfort of your home or while you need to take a break during your intensive job. It is intended to be supplemental to your learning in textbooks and in-class lecture. So have fun browsing here and come back frequently!

Dear MS 5023 Students:

Sept. 19, 2002 - Homework Solutions

Solutions to the assigned homework problems are now available for download in the class webpage. Please check it out. If there is any question, I will be happy to answer then this Saturday, which is one week away from our first exam! Our first exam questions should be those similar to the homework questions, but may include some simple, major concept questions (typically multiple choice).

Example of conceptual questions: What is dual price (what does it measure)? What are the major properties (assumptions) of the Linear Programming method?

Oct. 16, 2002 - Correct Case 2 Page Numbers

Case 2 (Bloodless Coup Concert) which is due on Nov. 2 is located in pages 354-355. The syllabus misprinted them as pp. 688-689. Please share this information with others in the class.

Nov. 21, 2002 - Remainder of the Semester

First, per your suggestions and due to the time constraints during the remainder of the semester, Case #3 will not be assigned. Thus please work hard on the homeworks during your spare time and make sure you are able to do those questions in the final exam.

Second, since on Saturday we are going to do the class evaluation first before we start our class, I will arrive 11:45am instead of 11:30am to give you the time to finish the evaluation.

By the way, for those you who have not done so, please bring back your First Exam so I could collect them.

Thank you for your attention.
